How a house clearance in Leeds works

Provide a few details about what you need for your house clearance in Leeds, and we’ll give you a free no obligation quote. This includes an estimate of what needs removing from the property, where it is in Leeds, when you want the house clearance to take place, and any access issues.

On the day of your house clearance, one of our purple trucks with two or more of our team will come to the property, depending on the scale of the clearance. They’ll pick up and remove all the furniture, appliances, and other waste you requested, loading it into the van for an effortless clear-out.

It’s then transported to a waste transfer station in Leeds for inspection and sorting. We aim to divert as much waste away from landfill as possible, so anything in a usable condition may go to a local charity. Items beyond repair will be recycled and disposed of responsibly, depending on the waste and material type.

For big house clearance jobs in Leeds, we may need to do more than one trip or use two or more vans and trucks. However, we’ll let you know in advance if this is the case based on the details you provide in the first place when getting a free quote.

  • Does Leeds City Council do house clearances?

Leeds City Council doesn’t offer a complete house clearance service. However, they do provide an unwanted items collection for private residents that live in the Leeds council tax area. This includes for items including furniture, carpets, electrical items, doors, and garden waste. Each collection is limited to five items, and you can only have up to four collections a year.

Certain items are exempt from the service too. These include rubble, kitchen units, garden sheds, bathroom suites, window frames, and more.

  • How long does a Leeds house clearance take?
